He Lurks in the Deep

Leviathanauction

This was a fun one.

Since I have gone into the OOAK sculpting business on Ebay, it has been really slow.
I intend to keep sculpting no matter what but it is proving costly. Luckily we are not bad off enough where I cannot afford supplies like clay every couple weeks. I can keep sculpting, but I believe the sculpts I choose to auction may be limited to what I find to be outrageously wonderful!
Ebay is increasing its final value fees which really encroaches on any profit one might make in this already dieing market.
For an artist it is still the best we can hope for. Galleries charge so phenomenally more its like you make nothing in the end.

A couple of projects I have finished lately.

I finished a couple projects this week that I really like. The bouquet of flowers are my kids. They are awesome lil people and now they are forever sculpted into clay:). I really enjoyed working on this one. Although I wished I hadn't started it for another week or so. I was just getting used to the clay I was using. I started with my son Caden's face and his doesn't look as much like him as the other flowers look like their children.I am overall happy with it though.

Then there is the Dryad. I like making her too. I painted her differently. I used water mixable oils to get her skin tone and shading by watering them down and doing light layers of color. It ended up looking wonderful. Considering she was all beige transparent when I started painting her.
